Do not attempt these steps on Apple macOS devices, as their window management system is completely different. Proceed entirely at your own risk.
If you need to look at two windows at the same time (like a web browser and a Word document), you do not need to resize them manually. Windows has a great built-in feature called Snap Assist.
- Click and hold the top title bar of the first window you want to use.
- Drag your mouse all the way to the left or right edge of your screen.
- When you see a transparent outline fill half the screen, let go of the mouse button.
- Windows will automatically snap the window to that half.
- On the other empty side of the screen, Windows will show your other open apps. Click on the second window you want to open. It will perfectly fill the remaining space.
Pro Tip: You can also just click on a window and press the Windows Key + Left Arrow or Right Arrow on your keyboard for an even faster shortcut.
