How to Speed Up a Slow Windows PC in 3 Minutes (No Apps Needed)

Disclaimer: For informational purposes only. Modifying system settings or deleting files always carries a risk of data loss or system instability. We strongly recommend creating a System Restore point and backing up important files before proceeding. Do not manually delete files from critical system folders (like C:\Windows). The author is not responsible for any damage, data loss, or hardware failure. Proceed entirely at your own risk. This guide is strictly for Windows operating systems. Do not attempt these steps on Apple macOS devices.

If your Windows computer is running slow, you do not need to buy expensive software. You can safely remove junk files using the built-in Windows Disk Cleanup tool.

  1. Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type cleanmgr into the box and press Enter.

  3. Select your main system drive (usually C:) and click OK.

  4. A window will appear. Check the boxes next to "Temporary files" and "Recycle Bin". Warning: Do NOT check the "Downloads" folder unless you are absolutely sure you do not need any downloaded files.

  5. Click OK, then click "Delete Files" to confirm.

  6. Restart your computer.

This simple maintenance clears gigabytes of dead files and helps your system run smoother.
