A computer clock showing the wrong time can cause annoying website security errors and mess up your digital schedule. Usually, this is not a hardware failure but a simple syncing issue with the internet time servers. Here is how to force Windows to update your time correctly.
How to Fix It:
Open Settings: Right-click on the clock in the bottom right corner of your taskbar and select Adjust date and time.
Force a Sync: Scroll down to the "Additional settings" section and click the Sync now button. This forces Windows to reach out to the internet and grab the exact current time.
Check Automatic Toggles: Make sure the switches for Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically are both turned On.
Check the Time Service (Advanced): If the sync fails, press Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter. Scroll down to find Windows Time. Right-click it, select Properties, change the "Startup type" to Automatic, click the Start button, and then click OK.
Your computer clock should now display the perfectly accurate time!
