If you are setting up a new router, configuring network security, or troubleshooting connection issues, you might be asked for your computer's MAC address. This is a unique hardware ID assigned to your network adapter.
Here is the fastest way to find it using the standard Windows Settings app without typing any complex commands.
What You Will Need
A computer with Windows 10 or 11.
Step 1 — Open Network Settings
Press the Windows Key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
Click on Network & internet in the left sidebar.
Step 2 — Find the Physical Address
At the top of the page, you will see your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet). Click on Properties right below it.
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page until you see the Hardware properties section.
Look for the line that says Physical address (MAC). The combination of letters and numbers next to it is your MAC address.
Pro Tip
If you prefer using the Command Prompt, you can simply press Win + R, type cmd, hit Enter, and then type getmac -v to see the physical addresses for all your network adapters instantly.
