How to Turn Off Sticky Keys in Windows 10 and 11 — A Quick Guide

If you press the Shift key five times in a row, Windows will suddenly interrupt you with a popup asking if you want to turn on "Sticky Keys". While this accessibility feature is helpful for some users, it can be incredibly annoying for gamers or fast typists.

Here is a safe way to disable this shortcut completely using standard Windows settings.

What You Will Need

  • A computer with Windows 10 or 11.

Step 1 — Open Windows Settings

  1. Press the Windows Key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.

  2. Click on Accessibility in the left menu (In Windows 10, this is called Ease of Access).
