How to Change the System Volume Using the Hidden Windows 11 Quick Settings Panel

 Windows 11 includes a convenient Quick Settings panel that lets you adjust the system volume instantly — without opening the full Settings app.

This method is especially useful on desktop PCs that don’t have dedicated volume keys.

Here’s how to use it.

Step 1: Open the Quick Settings Panel

  1. Move your mouse to the right side of the taskbar.

  2. Click the group of icons (Sound + Wi‑Fi + Battery).

  3. The Quick Settings panel will appear.

Step 2: Find the Volume Slider

Inside the Quick Settings panel, you will see several controls:

  • Wi‑Fi

  • Bluetooth

  • Brightness

  • Volume slider

Step 3: Adjust the System Volume

  1. Drag the slider left to decrease the volume.

  2. Drag it right to increase the volume.

  3. Click the speaker icon to mute or unmute the sound.
